Nick joined Tecon in 2009, and has been a Building Surveying professional for more than ten years.

Prior to becoming part of the team at Tecon, Nick gained many years of valuable experience first working with Adelaide City Council as Development Officer (Building) and later with Unley City Council as a Building Officer. Both of these positions gave Nick valuable insight into liaising with Councils on building projects.

Nick’s work with Tecon has seen him become an expert in specialist areas of Building Surveying including swimming pools, bushfire fire areas and construction on Aboriginal Lands.

HARVEY NORMAN RETAIL OUTLET,
NOARLUNGA CENTRE, SOUTH AUSTRALIA

This 3,500sqm extension for the Harvey Norman retail outlet was required to be delivered in a very short timeframe to avoid project delays related to the planning consent which was about to lapse. Nick ensured that the project was quickly managed through our external engineering consultancy ensuring compliance with Part B of the Building Code of Australia. The project was designed to meet the ‘Deemed to Satisfy’ requirement of the Building Code of Australia which assisted in the quick certification.


TWO STOREY SHOWROOM AND RESTAURANT BUILDING, LOWER NORTH EAST ROAD, PARADISE

This project included the construction of a two storey showroom, for the head office for Newton Ceramic Centre and included a restaurant. This project included some complicated alternative solutions to allow achieve the design benefits expected of the project. These alternative solutions were successfully delivered, meeting the clients expectations

THREE STOREY OFFICE AND APARTMENT COMPLEX, HURTLE PARADE, MAWSON LAKES

This 3 storey building comprised 3 ground floor offices tenancies and sixteen apartments over the two upper floors with associated ground floor carparks. The building included alternative solutions which required support from the SA Metropolitan Fire Service.

As part of the Federal Governments Building the Education Revolution (BER) Nick was instrumental in delivering an enormous number of Tecon’s regional certification projects within tight timeframes to ensure client expectations were achieved. Some of these projects include:
